Larry King is a CNN anchor and the former host of CNN's "Larry King Live". In December 2010, King hung up his suspenders and ended the nightly program he hosted for 25 years. He currently hosts four primetime specials for CNN each year.

Over the course of his historic career, Larry has done more than 50,000 interviews with newsmakers from all walks of life. With his unique, conversational approach to interviewing, he changed not only the landscape of cable television, but television news in general and became the domineering force in primetime news programming. As the Emmy Award-winning host of what was CNN's highest-rated program, King has been dubbed "the most remarkable talk-show host on TV ever" by TV Guide and "master of the mic" by TIME magazine.

In June of 1985, as King made the transition from his successful national radio talk show to cable, he helped define the future of cable news programming and CNN. The program featured phone calls and e-mails from viewers around the world. In June 1994, King created the first daily radio/TV talk show by simulcasting CNN's Larry King Live on Mutual/Westwood One radio stations nationwide.

King's interviews include exclusive sit-downs with every U.S. president since Gerald Ford. The famed NAFTA debate between then-Vice President Al Gore and Ross Perot in 1993 smashed cable industry ratings records and obtained the highest rating in CNN history - reaching more than 16.3 million viewers. In 1995, King showcased his extraordinary skill in international arena when he hosted a historic hour on the Middle East Peace process with PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, King Hussein of Jordan and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. King's award-winning jailhouse interviews include convicted murderers Sante Kimes and her son, Kenneth; Karla Faye Tucker, the first woman to be executed in Texas; and Mike Tyson.

In 2010, King pulled together a celebrity telethon just days after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, showing viewers around the world how they could contribute time, resources and money. The two-hour international broadcast, "Haiti: How You Can Help," brought in close to $10 million. During the summer of 2010, King helped bring attention and relief to the victims of the Gulf Coast oil spill with another two-hour "How You Can Help" program, which raised millions of dollars for various charities.

After Hurricane Katrina hit the U.S. Gulf Coast in 2005, Larry King Live broadcast for 20 consecutive nights. His post-disaster programming included interviews with more than 250 guests and a live, three-hour network special "How You Can Help." During the 2003 Iraq invasion, King hosted live shows for 29 consecutive nights. After the Sept. 11 attacks, King interviewed more than 700 guests, including more than 35 world leaders and dignitaries.

Described as the "Muhammad Ali of the broadcast interview," King has been inducted into five of the nation's leading broadcasting halls of fame and is the recipient of the prestigious Allen H. Neuharth Award for Excellence in Journalism.

In September 2011, he was awarded an Emmy and a Life Time Achievement Award at the News & Documentary Emmy's.

Larry's radio and television shows have won the George Foster Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting. He has won a News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Interview/Interviewer and 10 CableACE awards for Best Interviewer and for best Talk Show Series. King won the prestigious Gracie Allen Award twice by American Women in Radio and Television for his interviews with Melanie Bloom, widow of NBC's David Bloom (2006), and Nellie Connally, a former Texas first lady (2002).

In 2002, King received two New York Festival Awards for his Sept. 11 coverage and for his interview with Sir Paul McCartney. Larry was also selected to be an Olympic Torch bearer for the 2002 Winter Games. He also received the Unity Award for excellence in public affairs, reporting on minority issues from Lincoln University of Missouri and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Public Service Award for his programming on depression in 2001.

In 2000, King received Harvard University's Mahoney Award for increasing public awareness about neuroscience, and the March of Dimes' Franklin Delano Roosevelt Award for his efforts on behalf of community volunteerism.

He was also crowned Bacchus XXXIII at the 2001 Mardi Gras in New Orleans and was presented the key to the city.

In celebration of his 40th anniversary in the broadcasting industry, Hollywood honored King in 1997 with a star on the Walk of Fame for his life's work. In 2006, Promax/BDA awarded Larry with their Television Century Award and the Los Angeles Press Club honored him with its President's Award.

In 1996, the American Academy of Achievement honored him with the Golden Plate Award for his life's work in the broadcasting industry. In 1994, he received the Scopus Award from the American Friends of Hebrew University, and in 1993, the National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts named King "Talk Show Host of the Year." He has received honorary degrees from George Washington University, the New England Institute of Technology, Brooklyn College and the Pratt Institute.

King has made cameo appearances in more than 20 movies, including Ghostbusters, Primary Colors, America's Sweethearts, Shrek 2 and the 2004 remake of The Stepford Wives. King has appeared in television series such as Law and Order, Boston Legal, The Practice, Arli$$, Murphy Brown and Frasier.

Before broadcasting to an international audience, King was a popular media personality in Miami where he hosted interview programs for WIOD-Radio and WTVJ-TV. From 1978-1994, King's voice was heard by millions of radio listeners on Mutual Radio's The Larry King Show.

In addition to his broadcast credits, King founded the Larry King Cardiac Foundation in 1988, which has raised over $15 million and provided life-saving cardiac procedures for more than 1500 people and provided 100,000 heart screenings for needy children and adults. King also established a $1 million journalism scholarship at George Washington University's School of Media and Affairs for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Had it not been for an incredible stretch of bad luck and an unfortunate series of largely unsubstantiated mishaps that resulted in a half dozen felony convictions, Steve Hannah would most likely be President of the United States today.

Instead, much to the eternal chagrin of his late mother, for the past seven years he has been President & CEO of The Onion: America's Finest News Source and Relentless Self-Promoter.

Embarassing, really.

Nevertheless, The Onion is a multi-platform (VC's like people who talk like that, right?) media company that reports the news to a largely gullible public in print (newspapers and magazines), on a strange thing called the Internet (10 million unique visitors), on all manner of mobile devices, by way of exceedingly fancy apps, via web video (its Onion News Network has collected more Webbys than any other legitimate news organization and in 2009 won the prestigious Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting along with Saturday Night Live and Sixty Minutes) and most recently on television, where its Onion Sports Network debuted on Comedy Central and the Onion News Network show (and was renewed) launched on IFC.

Today, the Onion and its subsidiary organizations constitute the biggest, scariest, most powerful, most omniscient, most virulent, most vindictive news gathering organization in the world. For example, if he chose to do so-which he would not because he has learned to use his influence judiciously-he could wreck every single one of your personal and professional lives.

But, not to worry, if you treat him with the deference he so richly deserves, this whole thing will go just fine today.

While Steve Hannah has personally had little if anything to do with actually creating the Onion's outstanding array of media products, he is justifiably proud that The Onion is bigger than Rupert Murdoch's piddling little print and broadcast empire, dwarfs that shrimpy network CBS and reaches more people in more countries than that bullshit operation called CNN.

As for his personal profile, Mr. Hannah was born in a small town in upstate New York, did his undergraduate work at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., and was a half-assed graduate fellow (it was the pubs) in Literature and Drama at University College, Dublin, Ireland. He has spent most of his terribly accomplished professional life in media, working for CBS News, Wisconsin Public Television, The Record (New Jersey), The Milwaukee Journal (Executive Editor) and, most likely his last stop, The Onion.

Of all the fine media institutions he has worked for, he is most proud of his association with The Onion because it's really smart and funny.

He more or less divides his precious time between Chicago and New York and a really cool cabin a stone's throw from that egomaniac Frank Lloyd Wright's studio on the Wisconsin River near Madison, Wis., best known as birthplace of The Onion. [ Minimize ]

Previously Mr. McDonald was vice president, Drama Development and Series, ABC Studios. In this position he oversaw the studio's launch of "Desperate Housewives," "Scandal," "Happy Endings" and "Revenge" and developed such series as "Castle," "Ugly Betty," "Reaper" and "Commander in Chief."

Prior to working at ABC Studios Mr. McDonald was director, Drama Development at UPN, where he was responsible for developing new drama programming for UPN's primetime schedule. In this position Mr. McDonald developed "Veronica Mars" and oversaw current for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Prior to UPN Mr. McDonald was vice president of Television for Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert's Renaissance Pictures, serving as producer for such syndicated series as "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and "Xena: Warrior Princess." He previously acted as director of Development for Renaissance Pictures, overseeing the development and production of several network and syndicated series. As executive vice president of original programming, production and digital content, Joel Stillerman oversees every aspect of content creation across all platforms for AMC. Since joining AMC, Joel has overseen all original programming and production at the network including Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Rubicon, and AMC's newest show, The Killing. In the fall, AMC will premiere its next show Hell On Wheels. AMC, under Joel's direction, will be launching its first unscripted series in the winter of 2011.

A seasoned content executive, Mr. Stillerman joined AMC with more than 20 years of experience developing, producing and writing for film and television. He joined AMC from Yolo Films, an independent film and television production company, which he founded in 2003 and where he served as chairman. At Yolo, Mr. Stillerman produced content for networks including HBO, MTV and VH1. Prior to Yolo Films, Mr. Stillerman was the top content executive at Walden Media, where he served as executive vice president of development and production. During his tenure at Walden Media, he spearheaded the company's mission to build a brand around young adult literature, supervising the acquisition and development of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Holes. In 1995, Mr. Stillerman co-founded Spanky Pictures with Ted Demme and, as co-chairs, he and Demme oversaw all aspects of the company's operations, including acquiring, developing and producing both film and television projects. Earlier in his career, Mr. Stillerman was vice president of production and executive producer at MTV Networks, where he oversaw the majority of original production for the channel.

Kris Slava is Senior Vice President, Programming and Production, of Ovation. He is a senior cable and digital content executive who joined Ovation as the continuation of a distinguished television programming career with particular focus on arts and art-related programming.

Previously, he served as Vice President, Digital Content and Acquisitions, for BRAVO Network where he launched a suite of websites, forged major partnerships, oversaw design, created editorial, and acquired and produced video. He was instrumental in moving the company into new content areas, launching free-standing web businesses and developing web-based content for existing sites.

Prior to that Mr. Slava was Vice President of Acquisitions and Program Planning at TRIO Network, where he was part of the core team that launched the network. He helped launch numerous brands, including "OutZone," "Brilliant But Cancelled," "9 Sharp" and "UnCensored." He was instrumental in the acquisition of "Late Night with David Letterman," "Sessions At West 54th" and more than 1000 hours of concerts, documentaries and films for TRIO.

Previously, Poindexter served as Senior Vice President, Action-Adventure Properties for Warner Bros. Animation. Elevated to his current position in February 2002, he has spearheaded the strategic expansion of the company's television production activities in both broadcast and cable.

Beggs is also President of Lionsgate's feature-length documentary unit, which was established to identify and develop theatrical-length single-subject documentary projects suitable for television, theatrical and home entertainment distribution that reinforce the cutting edge Lionsgate brand. The group's latest documentary feature, Facing Ali, produced in conjunction with Spike TV, is slated for feature film distribution through Lionsgate's theatrical group.

During his tenure as President of LIonsgate Television, Beggs has overseen numerous additional productions, including the crime series Missing, starring Vivica A. Fox, which ran for three seasons on Lifetime Television; the CBS reality series The Cut with Tommy Hilfiger; the reality special Dear Santa on FOX; and such long-form projects as USA Network's Frankenstein, ABC Family's Brave New Girl, SCI FI Channel's 5ive Days To Midnight, and the LIFETIME TV movies Infidelity, Baby For Sale and Widow On The Hill.

Beggs first gained prominence in television as a producer on the hit series Baywatch and was tapped in 1998 to start Lionsgate's series television business. Since then, his duties have grown to include all of the company's television programming and production activities. He spearheaded the dramatic series Mysterious Ways, Higher Ground, Tracker and Hope Island, as well as the reality projects No Boundaries for WB and Iron Chef USA for UPN. His additional credits include the LIFETIME movie Student Seduction, ABC Family's Lucky Seven and magic special Criss Angel's Mindfreak for SCI FI Channel.


Beggs is also President of HRTS (Hollywood Radio and Television Society), co-chair of The National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) and President of the Board of Directors of the charity My Friend's Place.

Born in the San Francisco Bay area, Beggs was raised in Marin County, Oakland, and later Washington state. A well respected veteran in the television industry, Rebecca Segal has worked extensively in the acquisition and marketing of U.S. programming, both through the development stage and on air.

She has successfully identified programming trends, provided market intelligence, and maintained relationships with U.S. networks (network and cable), studios, as well as independent production companies, effectively guiding her international employers into a track record of successful acquisitions, pre-sales and co-productions. Based in Los Angeles, she has set up and run offices for some of the leading networks in the world.

As Senior Vice President for British Sky's Broadcasting Sky Networks, the U.K.'s leading multi-channel operator, she established their Los Angeles office in 1994 to oversee programme acquisition and co-production from the U.S. She has worked across all Sky channels including Sky1HD, 2 & 3, Sky Real Lives, Sky Movies, Sky Arts, as well as their new platforms.

Her range of experience has spanned a broad spectrum of television programming from Sky1 co-productions and pre-sales such as "Battlestar Galactica" and "Caprica" with NBC Universal and SyFy channel; "Stargate: Universe" with MGM and SyFy, "The 4400 with Paramount and USA Network to successful and image making acquired series including "Bones," "Modern Family," "Lost," "24," "House," "Fringe," "The Simpsons," "Lie To Me," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Project Runway," "Prison Break," "Eureka," "Weeds," "Deadwood" and "Rescue Me," and the "Stargate" and "Star Trek" franchises.

Prior to Sky, Ms.Segal served as Senior Vice President, Programme Acquisition USA for the BBC, the U.K.'s well known terrestrial broadcaster, setting up their first L.A. office in 1987, a time when the proliferation of new TV channels was making the business more complex. As the first U.S. representative for BBC's acquired programming, she worked closely with London for eight years on all acquired U.S. television series, longform programming and theatrical films for BBC1 and BBC2, including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "24," "The X Files," "Third Rock From the Sun" and "Murder One." During the time she was with the BBC they launched digital channels, BBC3 and BBC4.

In 2002, she was given the additionally responsibility of working with BBC Productions and the network's commercial arm, BBC Worldwide as the West Coast point person for LA based broadcast and cable networks as well as independent and studio-based producers.

During the previous four years, she was Vice President, International for News International, (a division of News Corp.) working with three of the company's satellite channels, British Sky Broadcasting (Sky1 and the movie channels), Hong Kong based pan-Asian satellite platform Star TV (including entertainment, film and music channels), and VOX Television in Germany on their acquisition and marketing of U.S. programming. Prior to that, she served as Vice President, International for Australia's Network TEN for almost five years.

She began her career in the music industry as a management representative for artists such as The Carpenters, Herb Alpert and Alice Cooper. She then worked in the syndicated television industry representing "The Richard Simmons Show," for many years one of the top five syndicated shows and handled all the publicity for Simmons's business ventures including home videos/DVDs, books and personal appearances. She headed the Publicity Department for Metromedia Producers where she worked on all their domestic and international programming, including "Dynasty" in over 120 markets.

Ms. Segal then opened her own company Segal Associates. For ten years, she pioneered marketing guidance and public relations strategies to top U.S. entertainment companies positioning them in international marketplace and conversely, worked with overseas companies to achieve recognition within the American industry. Her clients included ACI (a consortium of the then top 12 U.S. longform producers), HBO Enterprises, King World International, The Midem Organisation, Italy's Reteitalia Productions, the U.K.'s TVS Entertainment/Telso Communications and in the start up to the launch of New Zealand's TV 3 Network, among others.

She is an Officer of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of The British Academy of Film & Television Los Angeles (BAFTA/LA) and is in her fifth term as a Board member of the non profit Academy. She has played an active role in the Academy Co-Chairing three Britannia Awards (BAFTAA/LA's black tie event honoring major stars talent from the U.K. and the U.S.), she co-created the Television Committee and started the TV Tea Party, honoring Emmy nominees and UK talent working in the U.S., an event which has now become a "must attend," during the lead up to the Awards.

She served on the 2010 BritWeek Committee and helped produce the television panels for the BritWeek/Variety TV and Film Summitt in April, 2010. From 2005 to 2008 she was on the Board of Directors of Natpe and is an Alternate Board Member of the International Television Academy. Ms. Segal is a member of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Hollywood Radio and Television Society, Women in Film and is a Founding Member of EPPS (Entertainment Publicists Professional Society). Julie Bristow is the recently named Executive Director of Studio and Unscripted Programming for CBC Television, responsible for Factual Entertainment, Sports, Unscripted Comedy and Specials.

Julie launched the Factual Entertainment division for Canada's public broadcaster in May 2006, and over the course of five years oversaw the development, production and commissioning of talk shows, game shows, lifestyle and reality programming, variety arts and music as well as the acquisition and adaptation of international formats for CBC. Under her stewardship the network saw significant audience growth with prime time hits such as Dragons' Den, The Week The Women Went , the live event sports reality program Battle of the Blades, as well as daytime shows Steven and Chris, Best Recipes Ever, late night talk-show, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight. Canada's Next Great Prime Minister and Make the Politician Work were both home grown successes and hot-selling international formats.

Julie started in broadcast journalism at CBC in 1993 as a program researcher. By 1996 she was Executive Producing Midday, a daily afternoon news and current affairs magazine program and in 2002 she was made Head of Current affairs, overseeing the network's flagship investigative programs, the 5th estate, Marketplace, Venture.

Julie's work in television has garnered her numerous awards, including three Geminis and the CBC President's Award for Leadership. She holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto and a Master's Degree from the University of Chicago, where she was also selected as one of twelve international recipients of the William Benton Fellowship in Broadcast Journalism. Under her leadership, each year, 47% of TELETOON'S annual revenue is allocated towards the acquisition or development of animated series by Canadian producers. Some of the most notable programs include: 6TEEN, Johnny Test, and Total Drama Island.

Significant accomplishments include her leadership role in cementing long term relationships with, amongst others, Warner Bros., and Cartoon Network.

Carole has been working in the television industry since 1981, and came to TELETOON from TFO, TVOntario's French Educational TV Network where, as the Director of Network and Promotion, had already achieved significant success in a competitive industry, both at home and abroad. Prior to that, she was a journalist with Radio-Canada, the country's national public broadcaster.

Carole is fluent in English and French. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and journalism from l'Université Laval in Quebec. She also studied at Centre de Formation Journalistique in Paris, France. Carole is a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, and a member of Women in Film and Television (WIFT).

FUCHS then segued into the feature film industry producing TUCKER: THE MAN AND HIS DREAM, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and executive produced by George Lucas. Subsequently, Coppola invited Fuchs to become President of American Zoetrope Studios in San Francisco. In that role, Fred was Producer or Executive Producer responsible for developing and financing 15 feature films, including THE GODFATHER PART III, BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA, THE SECRET GARDEN, DON JUAN DEMARCO, THE VIRGIN SUICIDES, and JOHN GRISHAM'S THE RAINMAKER. While at Zoetrope Fuchs also started a successful television division, which produced four mini-series; Emmy-nominated THE ODYSSEY and MOBY DICK, as well as TITANIC and KIDNAPPED, four TV movies and the multi year episodic tv series FIRST WAVE.. After moving to Toronto and prior to joining the CBC in 2006 Fuchs spent a year working as a consultant for Peace Arch Entertainment, helping to build their US business. As Vice President, Original Content, Christine Shipton oversees all development and commissioning of Canadian original programming for the Shaw Media 19 specialty channels and for Global Television.

A seasoned executive, Christine joined Shaw Media (then Canwest) in May 2005, coming from Blueprint Entertainment, a production company dedicated to producing and financing television productions for the North American and world markets.

She has held a variety of senior positions in both broadcast and production organizations, including head of programming for W Network, VP of Canadian Television for Landscape Entertainment Canada, Alliance Atlantis Television and Alliance Communications as EVP of Canadian Drama, as well as Production Executive and Casting Director for CBC Television.

Christine has been responsible as Creative Executive for developing, overseeing and managing some great Canadian programming throughout her career, including Rookie Blue(ABC/Global), Da Kink in My Hair, Deal or No Deal Canada, Due South, Ice Pilots NWT, Global Currents, Street Legal, North of 60, The Diana Kilmury Story, and most recently Canada Sings, The Firm (NBC/Global) and Bomb Girls.

Series under her supervision include: Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys, All on the Line, Love Lust, and Ludo Bites America. She is responsible for bolstering the production of original series for the network as well as developing brand expansion strategies. Prior to joining Sundance Channel, Nicole served as Director of Development and original series at FUSE where she developed and produced the highest rated series of the time, including Pants off Dance off, Redemption Song, Videos that Rocked the World, and NOFX: Punkrock Passport. She has also worked as a Creative Executive for Oxygen Network where she was responsible for the development and production of unscripted and scripted series as well as movies. Nicole has a proven track record as an independent producer for broadcast networks as well as an independent film. Nicole holds a B.A. in both Critical Studies of Cinema-Television and Broadcast Journalism from The University of Southern California where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Joe is a co-founder of 1400 Months, a company that develops, produces and manages digital on-line content for multiple platforms. He is also founder and Executive Producer of Bow River Productions focusing on television program development and production. A graduate of Concordia University and the London School of Economics and Political Science, Joe began his career with CBC Radio in the Arctic, moving to television where he became a Senior Producer with CBC’s The Journal, and then later appointed Regional Director of Arts and Entertainment Programming. Joe has over seen many award-wining dramatic, documentary, performance and lifestyle programs for a variety of Canadian networks, including David Paperney’s Oscar Award nominated documentary The Broadcast Tapes of Dr. Peter (HBO). Joe has traveled extensively across Canada and throughout Europe consulting for broadcasters and content producers helping them create and implement strategic approaches to content development and production. Joe teaches part-time at Red Deer College and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
