The Banff International Pilots Competition is back!
You've put your heart, soul and a small fortune into producing your pilot - let us help you move on to the next step. Pilots is a platform for emerging and established producers to get exposure for their projects, grab the attention of key decision makers and, ultimately, get the green light.
Submit your completed pilot today for the chance to have it featured during BANFF 2012, and to compete for the title of Best Pilot in four different genre-based categories.
The Winners of the Banff International Pilots Competition will be announced at a special session by Canadian superstar Zaib Shaikh!
Entries to the Pilots Competition are to be submitted online before March 23, 2012 under one of four categories based on genre:
ENTERTAINMENT – comedy, lifestyle, music, variety, and game shows
DOCUMENTARY – unscripted pilots covering any kind of non-fiction content as well as docu-reality pilots
DRAMA – scripted pilots intended to develop into a continuing series, mini-series, soap opera or telenovela
YOUTH AND CHILDREN – fiction and non-fiction youth and children's productions targeted at viewers aged 17 and younger
Entered pilots are judged by juries composed of leading broadcast and production executives.
The competition is open to any completed pilot available for a distribution deal. Entered pilots cannot already be commissioned for broadcast, and the rights to the pilot must be 100% held by the producer or producers of the project.
Nominated entrants are awarded one free registration to the Banff World Media Festival, taking place June 10-13, 2012 in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The nominated pilots will be featured at a special session during the Festival, which is attended by key industry players who can get your project made.
The winning pilot from each category will receive a prestigious accolade recognized by broadcast and production execs across the globe. This could be the edge that you've been waiting for to get your pilot in front of the right people and finally get that green light.
